Statement of Faith
Below you will find a list of basic beliefs that are upheld by Grateful Pursuit with the Scriptures that explain why I believe them. We all have free choice and are entitled to our beliefs, so while these beliefs will not be "pushed on you" when you visit my website, you may want to take the time to read my Statement of Faith so you can better understand the background for the posts written. I strongly encourage you to study the Scriptures for yourself as well, and ask the Father to reveal truth to you. Those who seek will find. All Scripture passages are copied from the New King James version of the Holy Bible.
I Believe...
Human beings, as well as the world we live in, were all created by a Divine being who loves us. Mankind was made in the image of the Most High.
"In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth." - Genesis 1:1
"So Elohim created man in His own image; in the image of Elohim He created him; male and female He created them." - Genesis 1:27
Humans were created either male or female, and there is no choice involved with gender.
"So Elohim created man in His own image; in the image of Elohim He created him; male and female He created them." - Genesis 1:27
"You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination." - Leviticus 18:22
"For this reason Elohim gave them up to vile passions. for even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due." - Romans 1:26-27
Our Creator's name is Yahuah, and His Son's name is Yahusha.
There is no Scripture that directly supports this belief, due to the fact that the Bible we have today has been adulterated in its translation over the years and no longer contains His true name as it was originally written. My reason for this belief is simple: Scripture tells us how sacred and powerful the names of our Father and His Son are, therefore it's important to use the accurate names. The Scriptures were written in Hebrew and Greek, so it follows that we should use His name as it was written in these languages... I understand that Scripture was translated, but the names should not be. If I went to another country, my name would not change while I'm in that country. Likewise, our Creator's name does not change because we don't speak the language it comes from. Regardless, there's not even an accurate translation for the name of our Father and Savior in English. In my writings, I translate the names of our Savior as the original Hebrew was written:
LORD- Yahuah
God- Elohim/El
Lord- Adonai
Messiah- Mashiach
"Therefore Elohim also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Yahusha every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Yahusha Ha'Mashiach is Adonai, to the glory of Elohim the Father." - Phillipians 2:9-11
"The name of Yahuah is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." - Proverbs 18:10
"For 'whoever calls on the name of Yahuah shall be saved'" - Romans 10:13
There is a spiritual being named Satan, who is the enemy of Yahuah and is the current master of this world. He has the ability to entice us toward evil, and we have free choice of who we worship with the way we live our lives.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." -John 10:10
"Now is the judgement of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out." - John 12:31
"He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of Elohim was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - 1 John 3:8
We were each created with a specific purpose and divine plan for our lives.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations." - Jeremiah 1:5
"For we are His workmanship, created in Yahusha Ha'Mashiach for good works, which Elohim prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." - Ephesians 2:10
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahuah, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." - Jeremiah 29:11
"In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Mashiach should be to the praise of His glory." - Ephesians 1:11-12
"who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Yahusha Ha'Mashiach before time began," - 2 Timothy 1:9
We were created to be fruitful and multiply, and Yahuah has perfect timing for the creation of new life.
"Then Elohim blessed them, and Elohim said to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over living thing that moves on the earth.'" - Genesis 1:28
"Behold, children are a heritage from Yahuah, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man fills his quiver with them!He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies at the gate." - Psalm 127:3-5
"Children's children are the crown of old men, and the glory of children is their father." - Proverbs 17:6
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations." - Jeremiah 1:5
Children should be loved and nurtured by their parents from conception to the natural end of their lives.
"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." - Proverbs 22:6
"Correct your son, and he will give you rest; yes, he will give delight to your soul." - Proverbs 29:17
"And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up." - Deuteronomy 6:6-7
"Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged." - Colossians 3:21
"But when Yahusha saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, 'Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of Elohim." - Mark 10:14
"And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of Yahuah." - Ephesians 6:4
Every life is predestined by our Creator, and is valuable. It is a wicked thing to do to take a life in any form, whether it be by way of abortion, murder, birth control, harmful medication, manslaughter, or any passive form of depriving a human being of their life.
"You shall not murder." - Deuteronomy 5:17
"Keep yourself from a false matter; do not kill the innocent and righteous. For I will not justify the wicked."
- Exodus 23:7
"Whoever kills any man shall surely be put to death." - Leviticus 24:17
"You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgement.' But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgement. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire." - Matthew 5:21-22
"Surely for your lifeblood I will demand a reckoning; from the hand of every beast I will require it, and from the hand of man. From the hand of every man's brother I will require the life of man. Whoever sheds man's blood, by man his blood shall be shed; for in the image of Elohim He made man." - Genesis 9:5-6
Marriage is a sacred covenant created by Yahuah, and is the precious union between a man and a woman.
"Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."
- Genesis 2:24
"And Yahuah Elohim said, 'It is not good that man should be alone, I will make him a helper comparable to him.'" - Genesis 2:18
"And He said to them, 'Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female', and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? So then they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what Elohim has joined together, let no man separate." - Matthew 19:4-6
"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken." - Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
"Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control." - 1 Corinthians 7:2-5
Men are called to provide for their household, and to be a constant example of love to their wives and children.
"Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them." - Colossians 3:19
"For the husband is the head of the wife, as also Yahusha is the head of the church; and He is Savior of the body." - Ephesians 5:23
"But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." - 1 Timothy 5:8
"Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered." - 1 Peter 3:7
"And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of Yahuah." - Ephesians 6:4
"So husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes it and cherishes it, just as Adonai does the church." - Ephesians 5:28-29
Women are called to submit to their husbands and be a support to them, as well as show love to all whom are around them , especially those within her household.
"that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of Elohim may not be blasphemed."
- Titus 2:4-5
"She extends her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy." - Proverbs 31:20
"Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to Adonai. For the husband is the head of the wife, as also Yahusha is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Yahusha, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything." - Ephesians 5:22-24
"She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness." - Proverbs 31:27
"Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear. Do not let your adornment be merely outward- arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel- rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of Elohim. For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in Elohim also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him Adonai, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror." - 1 Peter 3:1-6
Yahuah sent His perfect Son, Yahusha in the form of a man to earth to save us from eternal death.
"For Elohim so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For Elohim did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." - John 3:16-17
"Yahusha said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
- John 14:6
"not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit," -Titus 3:5
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of Elohim, not of works, lest anyone should boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9
When we choose to leave behind our sin and be freed in Yahusha, we are given eternal life and are adopted into His family.
"For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you. You will then say, 'Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in'. Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. For if Elohim did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. Therefore consider the goodness and severity of Elohim: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for Elohim is able to graft them in again." - Romans 11:16-23
"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgement, but has passed from death into life." - John 5:24

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of Elohim, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of Elohim." - John 1:12-13
All Scripture is divinely inspired and holds true always.
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of Elohim, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of Elohim may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." - 2Timothy 3:16-17
"knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of Elohim spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit." - 2 Peter 1:20-21
Yahuah gave us clear instructions in His word for how to live our lives as His children righteously. If we are freed from sin, we will stop living in its bondage. Love for the Father is shown in obedience to Him.
"If you love Me, keep my commandments." - John 14:15
"So He said to him, 'Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, Elohim. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments." - Matthew 19:17
"And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates." - Deuteronomy 6:6-9
"For this is the love of Elohim, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome." - 1John 5:3
"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Adonai! Adonai!', shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Adonai, Adonai, have we not prophesied in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'. And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'"
- Matthew 7:21-23
"Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, 'I know Him', and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of Elohim is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him." - 1John 2:3-5
"'Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till Heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of Heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of Heaven." - Matthew 5:17-19

Yahuah blessed the seventh day as the Sabbath and commanded His people to rest in Him on that day.
"Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of Yahuah your Elohim. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor nor your stranger who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and Yahuah your Elohim brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore Yahuah Elohim commanded you to keep the Sabbath day." - Deuteronomy 5:13-15
"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy." - Exodus 20:8
"And on the seventh day Elohim ended His work which He had done and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then Elohim blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which Elohim had created and made." - Genesis 2:2-3
"There remains therefore a rest for the people of Elohim. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as Elohim did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience." - Hebrews 4:9-11
When we walk as He has commanded us, we will be blessed.
"Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of Yahuah your Elohim which I command you today; and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of Yahuah your Elohim, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known." - Deuteronomy 11:26-28
"Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of Yahuah your Elohim, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that Yahuah your Elohim will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of Yahuah your Elohim:"

"Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine." - Exodus 19:5
"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."
- Joshua 1:8
"Blessed is everyone who fears Yahuah, who walks in His ways." - Psalm 128:1
Israel is not a geographical location, but rather is a group of people whom have been chosen by Him and scattered to the ends of the earth. Israel (His people) will one day be regathered.
"For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgements and do them. Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your Elohim. I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. I will call for the grain, and multiply it, and bring no famine upon you." - Ezekiel 36:24-29

Well said. And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for Elohim is able to graft them in again." - Romans 11:16-23
Religion is man-made and does not honor our Creator. Labels and denominations are just a form of division. The only truth is in Scripture, and that's what our guidelines should be.

Food is the greatest form of medicine, and has been given to us to nourish our bodies and souls. We are only to eat things that are defined as food in Scripture, and this excludes pork, shellfish, etc.
"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from Elohim, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price, therefore glorify Elohim in your body and in your spirit, which are Elohim's."
- 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
"Do not mix with winebibbers, or with gluttonous eaters of meat; for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and drowsiness will clothe a man with rags."- Proverbs 23:20-21
"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of Elohim."- 1 Corinthians 10:31
Now Yahuah spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying to them, “Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘These are the animals which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth: Among the animals, whatever divides the hoof, having cloven hooves and chewing the cud—that you may eat. Nevertheless these you shall not eat among those that chew the cud or those that have cloven hooves: the camel, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you; the rock hyrax, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you; the hare, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you; and the swine, though it divides the hoof, having cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud, is unclean to you. Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch. They are unclean to you. ‘These you may eat of all that are in the water: whatever in the water has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers—that you may eat. But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you. They shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat their flesh, but you shall regard their carcasses as an abomination. Whatever in the water does not have fins or scales—that shall be an abomination to you. ‘And these you shall regard as an abomination among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, the vulture, the buzzard, the kite, and the falcon after its kind; every raven after its kind, the ostrich, the short-eared owl, the sea gull, and the hawk after its kind; the little owl, the fisher owl, and the screech owl; the white owl, the jackdaw, and the carrion vulture; the stork, the heron after its kind, the hoopoe, and the bat. ‘All flying insects that creep on all fours shall be an abomination to you. Yet these you may eat of every flying insect that creeps on all fours: those which have jointed legs above their feet with which to leap on the earth. These you may eat: the locust after its kind, the destroying locust after its kind, the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind. But all other flying insects which have four feet shall be an abomination to you. ‘By these you shall become unclean; whoever touches the carcass of any of them shall be unclean until evening; whoever carries part of the carcass of any of them shall wash his clothes and be unclean until evening: The carcass of any animal which divides the foot, but is not cloven-hoofed or does not chew the cud, is unclean to you. Everyone who touches it shall be unclean. And whatever goes on its paws, among all kinds of animals that go on all fours, those are unclean to you. Whoever touches any such carcass shall be unclean until evening. Whoever carries any such carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until evening. It is unclean to you. ‘These also shall be unclean to you among the creeping things that creep on the earth: the mole, the mouse, and the large lizard after its kind; the gecko, the monitor lizard, the sand reptile, the sand lizard, and the chameleon. These are unclean to you among all that creep. Whoever touches them when they are dead shall be unclean until evening. Anything on which any of them falls, when they are dead shall be unclean, whether it is any item of wood or clothing or skin or sack, whatever item it is, in which any work is done, it must be put in water. And it shall be unclean until evening; then it shall be clean. 33 Any earthen vessel into which any of them falls you shall break; and whatever is in it shall be unclean: in such a vessel, any edible food upon which water falls becomes unclean, and any drink that may be drunk from it becomes unclean. And everything on which a part of any such carcass falls shall be unclean; whether it is an oven or cooking stove, it shall be broken down; for they are unclean, and shall be unclean to you. Nevertheless a spring or a cistern, in which there is plenty of water, shall be clean, but whatever touches any such carcass becomes unclean. And if a part of any such carcass falls on any planting seed which is to be sown, it remains clean. But if water is put on the seed, and if a part of any such carcass falls on it, it becomes unclean to you. ‘And if any animal which you may eat dies, he who touches its carcass shall be unclean until evening. He who eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until evening. He also who carries its carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until evening. ‘And every creeping thing that creeps on the earth shall be an abomination. It shall not be eaten. Whatever crawls on its belly, whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet among all creeping things that creep on the earth—these you shall not eat, for they are an abomination. You shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creeps; nor shall you make yourselves unclean with them, lest you be defiled by them. For I am the Yahuah your Elohim. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with any creeping thing that creeps on the earth. For I am Adonai who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your Elohim. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
‘This is the law of the animals and the birds and every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps on the earth, to distinguish between the unclean and the clean, and between the animal that may be eaten and the animal that may not be eaten.’ ”- Leviticus 11:1-47

"Do not mix with winebibbers, or with gluttonous eaters of meat; for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and drowsiness will clothe a man with rags."- Proverbs 23:20-21
"Wine is a mocker, strong drink is a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise."- Proverbs 20:1
"Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has contentions? Who has complaints? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes? Those who linger long at the wine, those who go in search of mixed wine. do not look on the wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it swirls around smoothly; and the last it bites like a serpent, and stings like a viper. Your eyes will see strange things, and your heart will utter perverse things. Yes, you will be like one who lies down in the midst of the sea, or like one who lies at the top of the mast, saying: 'They have struck me, but I was not hurt; they have beaten me, but I did not feel it. When shall I awake, that I may see another drink?'"- Proverbs 23:29-35
"And do not be drunk with wine, which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,"- Ephesians 5:18
"Harlotry, wine, and new wine enslave the heart."- Hosea 4:11
"Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy."
- Romans 13:13
"Therefore, let us not sleep as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation."- 1 Thessalonians 5:6-8
Witchcraft and magic of any kind is directly correlated with unclean spirits and is detestable in the sight of Yahuah.
"Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them , do not be defiled by them: I am Yahuah your Elohim."- Leviticus 19:31
"And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set my face against that person and cut him off from His people."- Leviticus 20:6
"But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."- Revelation 21:8
"Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of Elohim. "- Galatians 5:19-21
"I will cut off sorceries from your hands, and you shall have no soothsayers."- Micah 5:12
"Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty-thousand pieces of silver. So the Word of Yahuah grew mightily and prevailed."- Acts 19:19-20
"There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations Yahuah your Elohim drives them out from before you."- Deuteronomy 18:10-12
Pagan traditions are not to be upheld by those who claim they belong to the Father. This includes man-made holidays that are not commanded in Scripture.
"Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Mashiach."- Colossians 2:8
"He answered and said to them, 'Why do you also transgress the commandment of Elohim because of your tradition?" - Matthew 15:3
"You shall not worship Yahuah your Elohim with such things."- Deuteronomy 12:4
Another huge reason for me not observing man-made holidays and traditions is because most of the origins directly defy Yahuah and are founded in paganism... You can do your own history research on that.
There is an existing spiritual realm that is invisible to the human eye and is a constant battle between good and evil.
We partake in spiritual warfare daily with the way we live our lives.
"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in Elohim for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of Elohim, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Mashiach, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled."- 2 Corinthians 10:3-6
"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Yahusha is the Son of Elohim?"- 1 John 5:4-5
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in Yahuah and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of Elohim, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of Elohim, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."- Ephesians 6:10-13
We are to be grateful and praise Yahuah at all times.
"Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need."- Philippians 4:11-12
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of Elohim in Yahusha Ha' Mashiach for you."- 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Oh, give thanks to Adonai, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of Yahuah say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, and gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south."- Psalm 107:1-3
'Bless Yahuah, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s."- Psalm 103:2-5
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to Elohim; and the peace of Elohim, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Yahusha Ha' Mashiach."- Philippians 4:6-7
"Let the word of Mashiach dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to Yahuah. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Yahusha Ha' Mashiach, giving thanks to Elohim the Father through Him."- Colossians 3:16-17
"Rejoice in Yahuah always. Again I will say, rejoice!"- Philippians 4:4
We are to be good stewards of the provisions He has given us, whether it be money, time, or anything else we can use to be fruitful.
"And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to Yahuah and not to men,"- Colossians 3:23

"Commit your works to Yahuah, and your thoughts will be established."- Proverbs 16:3
We know who belongs to Yahuah by the fruit they show in their lives.
"You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them."
Matthew 7:16-20
